The annual club championship will be played on October 23rd & 24th. While we do crown club champions, this event is for club members to gather and play disc golf; it is not PDGA-sanctioned, and it is a great way for new players to meet and compete.
On Saturday we will have two rounds of disc golf at Cliff Drive in Kessler Park in KCMO. We will have several temporary holes in addition to the standard layout in the park, creating two 18 hole courses at the park — Cliff Red and Cliff Blue. On Sunday, we will cross the state line to crown our champions in Kansas at Shawnee Mission Park and Heritage Park. Participants that play both rounds on Saturday will be divided into flights based on their scores for the rounds on Sunday.
It’s an event, not a tournament. We encourage everyone to play all 4 rounds, but you can participate by playing any combination of rounds based on your availability. The overall club champion will be the lowest gross score from any player who completed all 4 rounds. The women’s club champion will be the lowest gross score from any woman that played 2 rounds — Cliff Drive Blue on Saturday (either morning or afternoon) and Heritage on Sunday morning. Women are, of course, welcome to play all 4 rounds to compete for a higher overall placement (and better bag tag) or just to have fun, but Cliff Drive Red and Shawnee Mission Park will not count toward the women’s club championship.

There is no entry fee for the event; you only need to be a current club member through the end of 2021. You can check on the club site for your current membership status. If you are not a current member, signing up now provides immediate membership extending throughout all of next year until December 31, 2022.
What are the benefits of membership? First, your membership supports the all-volunteer organization that maintains our courses and coordinates our local events. Your membership also gets you discounts at all club leagues and events, and will earn you a current KCDG Bag Tag. We will award 2022 Bag Tags on the basis of your finish in this event; however you must renew through the end of 2022 in order to earn your Bag Tag rank.
We are asking everyone who intends to play to pre-register on Disc Golf Scene. We strongly prefer you sign up in advance. There is no cost to pre-register. Just follow the link and let us know you are planning on playing, identify which rounds you plan to play (you can always change this later), and let us know if you have any preference regarding who you want to play with in the un-flighted rounds. If you are not a current member or wish to renew through the end of 2022, you can sign up on the club site, or choose the membership options under “Additional Items” on Disc Golf Scene.
