
Event Expectations
Responsibilities and guidelines for tournament directors and event organizers hosting events at KCDG courses.
Kansas City Disc Golf is a volunteer organization covering specific costs through collected fees. The club maintains long-standing relationships with parks departments spanning over 3 decades.
What KCDG Provides
- Course project organization and completion at all 18 KCDG courses, addressing wear and tear
- Work day cost coverage with board-approved purchases of materials, tools, and parts
- Year-round coordination with course coordinators, volunteers, and city parks departments for mowing, trash removal, restroom access, and debris clearing
- TD direction to course coordinators for basket access; basket moving remains the TD's responsibility
- Park closure decisions rest with individual Parks Departments
- Event advertising on KCDG social media
- Event listing on kcdiscgolf.org website calendar
- Feather banners and water coolers available for events (must be returned)
- Insurance coverage during events, workdays, and volunteering
- Event submission to parks partners in December for master schedule placement
Note: TDs must pay course fees and shelter reservation fees independently.
KCDG Is NOT Responsible For
- Course configuration setup
- Distance measurements from tees to baskets
- Course Closed Signs (with city permission)
- Shelter rental fees or special event permits
- Vending permits
- Alcohol permits
- Cleaning tee pads
- Event security
- Porta potty rentals and logistics
- Leaving parks clean; hauling away excess trash

- Restroom cleaning
- Pavilion cleaning
- Parking lot cleaning
- Mowing
